In the pastures of the Orkhon valley, the way of life of nomadic herders is perpetuated in harmony with a wild nature. Located in the province of Ovorkhangai, central region of Mongolia, the cultural landscape of the Orkhon Valley is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley includes many archaeological remains and also encompasses Karakorum, capital in the 13th and 14th centuries of the vast empire of Genghis Khan.
