Getaway to the Chausey Islands and to Granville in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel

At the edge of Normandy, a little corner of paradise with a taste of elsewhere awaits who wants to spend a stay between land and sea, total change of scenery guaranteed. Guardian of the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, Granville, the elegant seaside town and hometown of Chritian Dior, stands on its rocky outcrop facing the sea. A casino, bourgeois villas and a beach have made the reputation of this “Monaco of the North”. Facing the city, the Chausey Islands archipelago stretches its 365 granite islets with paradisiacal beaches on a gradient of sea blue, discovering them aboard an old rig is one of the must of the trip. On the Big Island, a piece of land 2 km long and 500 m wide where a dozen residents live, the discovery is made on foot. Mont Saint-Michel, the emblematic silhouette of the Wonder of the West, is not far away. In the Middle Ages, the building monks built the Wonder with the inexhaustible granite rocks of the Chausey Islands. Another highlight of this trip is the crossing of the bay on foot between quicksand and grass, where the landmarks disappear between sea, sky and horizon.
